Ragna S. Bjarnadóttir, lecturer and head of studies of the Fashion Design program at the Iceland University of the Arts, will give a talk and lead a discussion on garment repair, past and present.
In earlier times, repairs were necessary because textiles were expensive and scarce. Today, the situation is different, or is it?
The talk will explore creative repairs, invisible repairs, and the emotions and value embedded in some of our clothing.
The talk will be in Icelandic.
This event is a part of a project called make-a-thek which is funded by the EU.
