Friends of IPA

During Vetrarhátíð / Winter Festival, Íslensk grafík / The Icelandic Printmakers Association presents a new work by Sigurður Atli Sigurðsson, who was appointed Artist of the Year 2026 by Grafíkvinir / Friends of IPA. The project has been ongoing since 1994, with artists such as Bragi Ásgeirsson, Georg Guðni, and Ragnheiður Jónsdóttir among its recipients.

In addition to producing an editioned work for the association, Sigurður Atli is granted a one-year artist residency at the Íslensk grafík workshop in Hafnarhúsið. During the Winter Festival / Vetrarhátíð, Sigurður Atli will host an open studio in the IPA Gallery (Grafíksalurinn), where he presents a selection of recent works alongside earlier pieces, offering visitors an insight into the artist’s working process.
